Hi, I noticed a local phone number in my opendns logs in the domain section. My question is, was this a phone call that was made from a device utilizing a web based phone service like hangouts or facetime calling? I see no other explanation why a phone number to a cell phone would be in my logs other than someone dialed the number with a web based phone application.
Thanx!

This is a networking application in your network raising this bad DNS lookup while using the phone number as domain name. You can reproduce it manually:
nslookup 123456789
Three hours later you see it in your OpenDNS stats. This could have been any malfunctioning app, not only a phone app.

What also could have happened is that a user entered this phone number into a browser's address line to e.g. perform a phone directory query. This can easily trigger such a DNS lookup.
