Hello I just want to add my experience, after using my own Netgear modem for 7 years I switched to Ubee Modem through Times Warner Spectrum internet, and I thought I lost OPEN DNS security for my internet. I have kids and I need to be able to block the certain sites on internet and make it safe for my family but Time Warner did not have OPEN DNS, behold when I called them and explained rather than going through their UBEE parental control which was too confusing to set up, agent helped me to install my NETGEAR MODEM next to Ubee , so my main internet server would be the Netgear modem, which allows me to apply OPEN DNS back again, Everything is back to normal now, all I had to do was change couple of Ethernet cable and plug them first to Netgear modem then to Ubee modem. OPEN DNS peace of mind is back! if you have this issue you could call your time warner customer service and have the same issue resolve like this. Thanks.

I LOVE OPEN DNS- with young kids and raising teenagers its the BEST THING CAN HAPPEN TO PARENTS. you set it and forget it,never have to worry after the initial set up, so easy, blocks all adult website, blood gore, violence, drinking reference etc. THANK YOU OPEN DNS YOU ARE A GOD SENT!

ebruawad or anyone who knows. first I am usually reasonably ok with network configuration but I am stumped. I have timewarner/spectrum ubee internet modem and netgear. I have tried the switching cables as it should be to go through netgear. when i try to gain acess to the netgear configuration screen where you log in. I type in the user password and it says that the conection is not secure. I have tried over and over on chrome as well as Internet explorer. no results. Just wont let me in because of the conection not being secure. was there any settings that had to be changed on the ubee modem before switching? at current i have my network setup secure that requires a password to go on internet. I have also restarted both modem and router and computer conected to the router. still same thing. I cleared the cache still no go. any help is appreciated. as I have kids that need to be blocked from all the bad stuff on the web.
