I am tying to whitelist a few sites but is not working. Ive seen other threads talk about first posting the results of nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com. How do I do that?

"I am tying to whitelist a few sites but is not working."
You cannot whitelist "sites" with OpenDNS, just domain names.
To see what domain names are being blocked, possibly used by sites you want to access, visit https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomains
Another possibility to find related domain names is the tool http://www.webpagetest.org/
"talk about first posting the results of nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com."
I do not need to see the output of this command, because it will not add any insights in your case. This command is important in cases where blocking doesn't work, not so much where whitelisting doesn't work. In your case it would be more useful to know what categories you have blocked and what sites cannot be accessed.
"How do I do that?"
How to do this depends on your OS. In principle you open a command prompt / terminal window to enter and execute the command there.

the domain is www.dlisted.com --- sort of like TMZ. it is being caught by the overall filter i have for pornography and nudity....surprised that it is because thats not the kind of stuff there. it is sort of kathy lee griffinish. any way, i see it blocked when i followed your first link but even after selecting the optoin to whitelist the domain, it still is blocked.

I need to be more patient....it now is accessible.

This site uses lots of domains where they have content hosted on:
http://www.webpagetest.org/domains.php?test=150525_D8_JZE&run=1&cached=0
Depending on what categories you have blocked, it may not be sufficient to whitelist dlisted.com only.
It is currently categorized as Blogs, Nudity, Pornography - see https://domain.opendns.com/dlisted.com
"I need to be more patient....it now is accessible."
You don't need to be patient. You can make it effective immediately if you flush your local caches, local resolver cache and browser cache.

Hello, I am having issues with this too. My family is trying to access dlisted.com, but it is blocked. I have it white listed, but I use the OpenDNS IP 208.67.222.123. Any suggestions?

No, you never have a same issue. It's always your issue only. Issues cannot be shared. Especially...
You cannot whitelist domains being blocked by using the FamilyShield addresses 208.67.222.123 and 208.67.220.123. You need to use the "normal" OpenDNS resolver addresses.
Alternatively, add these two lines to your local hosts file to circumvent FamilyShield for this site:
72.26.207.210 dlisted.com www.dlisted.com
93.184.216.229 gs1.wac.v3cdn.net i.dlisted.com wac.6f06.edgecastcdn.net
