I've always been able to access www.craigslist.com and now (over the last 2 days) OpenDNS has been blocking it. I need it for job searching. I even "white-listed" it and it is still blocked. Thank you!

"Why is DNS suddenly blocking www.craigslist.org?"
OpenDNS doesn't block anything. It's your dashboard settings. So, your question doesn't make sense.
See https://domain.opendns.com/craigslist.com and https://domain.opendns.com/craigslist.org
Do you have one of the categories Classifieds, Jobs/Employment or Adult Themes blocked at your dashboard? In this case the domain is blocked by your settings. The categories are very dynamic, and domains may be added to or removed from them at any time, depending on community decisions. If you make use of category blocking, then you have to expect such symptoms.
"I even "white-listed" it and it is still blocked."
Did you do it right? Add craigslist.com and craigslist.org to your "never block" list, but only if you find them blocked at https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomains, and flush your local caches, and you should be able to visit it again.
Also ensure that your correct IP address is registered at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
If it still does not work, copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following diagnostic commands to here:
nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
nslookup craigslist.com.
nslookup www.craigslist.com.

I had the same problem. I'm not sure why it worked before, but craigslist.com is a redirect for craigslist.org. You have to whitelist craigslist.org as well.

I am having the same issue. When I try to whitelist, I get an error :This site says...error whitelisting geo.craigslist.org.
Last week craigslist worked fine. Starting yesterday (after MS updates) I get an error "This site is not secure." When I look at the stats, it said craigslist blocked - Classifieds, Adult Themes. Yes, I have Adult Themes blocked. However, I should still be able to whitelist craigslist.

Clearly, you must be doing something wrong. See here how to do it:
Also, why in the world would you whitelist geo.craigslist.org? This does not make sense. You simply whitelist craigslist.org which covers everything, this and all its subdomains.
Btw, if you attempt to whitelist (or blacklist) out of your blocked domain stats, this does not work since a while, and it's good that it doesn't work, because you would whitelist stuff like geo.craigslist.org which would not help at all with your issue.
"Starting yesterday (after MS updates) I get an error "This site is not secure.""
Yes, the KB is your friend: https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/articles/227988787
And it has nothing to do with MS updates, but with the possibility that a Craigslist domain may have been approved for another category yesterday.
"However, I should still be able to whitelist craigslist."
Don't complain! Just do it - now! You can do it.

Hi,
We have recently changed the category of craigslist.org: https://domain.opendns.com/craigslist.org. If you have selected to blocked the "Adult Themes" category, this domain will now be blocked for you.
Please go ahead and add craigslist.org to your Never Block List.
Regards,

I am having the same problem with craigslist, it is blocked now. I whitelisted it and now it loads but the content of the page doesn't look right. Everything loads as text on the left side of the screen.

Visit https://dashboard.opendns.com/stats/all/blockeddomains to see what related domains are being blocked, and unblock or whitelist those.
If you cannot identify the domains in question, enter the complete URL of the Craigslist page at https://www.webpagetest.org/ and click the domains tab after the test to see what domains are being used by that page.
Edit: I see in the other thread that you solved it by flushing your browser cache. Deleting the cookies was not needed, just the cache.

I have geo.Craigslist.org listed in the never block list, but it is still blocked and I can't figure out why. Any help?

Do you have both craigslist.com and craigslist.org in your never block list? Do you also have the "Adult Themes" category blocked? Have you looked in your logs and stats to see what else is being blocked? Have you flushed your caches?

As I said above already, whitelisting geo.craigslist.org is full non-sense if you have blocked one of Classifieds, Jobs/Employment, Adult Themes. This subdomain redirects to your location city.craigslist.org, and this is then still blocked if you only whitelisted geo.craigslist.org. You must whitelist craigslist.org which unblocks this and any subdomains of it.

Thanks Mattwilson & Rotbilz for your suggestions,
Craigslist was whitlisted as I said above, and the adult themes was unchecked. However, I figured out the problem. I had opendns before I bought my netgear router, which has a partnership with opendns. When I checked the router family filter settings, it has no options to block or allow individual web domains/sites, and it had adult themes checked. Originally when I set up the router years ago, I thought it was the same settings page but it isn't. So I apparently have two opendns settings to check when I change settings even though I only have one account. Weird. Hope this helps others who have the same problem.

Oh, this problem is reported quite often here...
Again, please note, you cannot use Netgear LPC and OpenDNS Home at the same time. These services are incompatible, so results are inconsistent and random. Use only the one or the other, never both at the same time!

@kkaurin In other words, you have NOT figured out the problem. You may have several issues here, but the biggest and most important one is that you CANNOT use both dashboards (LPC and OpenDNS Home) together. They are incompatible and will, at best, give you inconsistent. You need to follow the link that rotblitz provided and disable one of them.
