Hi,

I am using 3550 switch with sx gbic  at one end and 2960x with glc-lh-smd at other end  but link is not coming up. In am using multimode fiber.

I have tried changing fiber cores but still the link is not coming up.

Pls  suggest ..

If you're using multi-mode fibre then the SFP in the 2960X should be GLC-SX-MMD.

Are you using the 1000Base-SX GBIC? If so that will not work.

The 1000Base-LX/LH GBIC might work if you've carefully planned and implemented the physical layer spans.

Even though the GLC-LH-SMD transceiver can operate over multimode fiber for shorter spans (400-500m, depending on the core size), it operates at 1310 nm wavelength vs. the 850 nm nominal wavelength for the 1000Base-SX GBIC.
