Cisco 3900 Router and SFP Modules

I have a Cisco 3925 Router and was kindly given (2) 1g SFP modules for the Router... I plan to use them to feed directly to (2) switches.

- So I know the Media-Type needs to be set, along with the Speed and Duplex.

- What other commands are needed to enable the SFP modules?

I'm unsure you must configure speed and duplex as both are implicit (?) once you configure media-type SFP.
