Cisco IE-2000 Switch Connectivity through SFPs

Hi,

I have connected seven (7) cisco IE-2000-8TC-G-E switches connected in ring topology. Upon connecting the fiber (single mode) LC type in SFP modules, I do not get any uplink light on the switch.

I have already changed the switch DHCP IP address to static IP address. I cannot figure out the problem from where I can achieve the connectivity of the switches to each other.

I would really appreciate if you can respond me at earliest.

Thank you so much,

Sincerely,

Irfan Khalid

What type SFPs are you using and are they the same in all the switches?

Is the fiber single mode everywhere?

Have you tried flipping the fiber transmit and receive on one end?

The SFPs being used are GLC-LX-SM-RGD (1000 Mbps single mode rugged SFPs) and they are same in all the switches.

The fiber used is single mode everywhere.

Well, I haven't tried flipping the transmit and receive on one end yet, but I will do that let you know.

Many thanks,

Sincerely,

Irfan Khalid

Thank you so much. Flipping the fiber transmit and receive on one end really worked.

Thank you so much once again,

Best Regards,

Irfan Khalid
