CTC 9.5 and windows 8

I am trying to get CTC to work with windows 8. I keep getting an error mesage "Node is eitehr invalid or not reachable. Please verify and try again.

I am able to ping, telnet and tl1 into the node. I am able to http://x.x.x.x/fs/StartCTC.exe and download CTC

I downloaded and installed 1.6.0_21. I set it to enabled in control panel.

I ran

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

and verifed it is disabled.

Is there anything else I can try?

It turned out to be my internet  security software was blocking CTC. I added it to the all the exclusions and it still didn't work so I disabled it and it I was a able to CTC to nodes.
