sfp-10g-sr or sfp-10g-sr-s

I have a ASR 901 series (A901-6CZ-FS-A)

And I wanna know if my baby can support one of this transceivers.

  • sfp-10g-sr 
  • sfp-10g-sr-s

Physically they are exactly the same size / form factor.

 

Internally they are different and the chip inside will report them as different products.

 

My guess is that since the ASR series is positioned as a WAN router, Cisco doesn't want customers to use transceivers that don't support the WAN PHY in that router series.

Just the first one. The ASR 901 series doesn't officially support the S-class 10 Gbps transceivers.

Physically they are exactly the same size / form factor.
