We have a couple of these SPF transceivers which we have not use for a a while ie a year or two.

Now we want to use them but how do we test it to see if it is still working ???

Thanks

Get a fiber patch cable, cross the transmit and receive fiber (think of an Ethernet crossover cable, only for fiber). Put the SFPs in a switch, no shut the ports, use the crossover fiber cable. If the link lights turn on, you should be good to go.
