XENPACK & SFP+ Compatibility

Trying to identify if there is compatibility between XENPACK modules and SFP+. We are currently running a 6500 with WS-SUP32-10GE-3B using XENPAK-10GB-LX4. We are trying to connect these devices to some newer models that use SFP+ such as a Cisco 4500x

I found the below links that point to say it is says XENPACKs are compatibile with X2, XFP and SFP+ but I am not 100% sure

XENPACK

The physical package of the transceiver is not important (sometimes the optical components are non-pluggable).  The key is to match the speed (1Gbps, 10G, 40G, etc) and reach (SX, LX, LRM, etc) at both ends of the link.  Additionally, you will need to confirm that the same speed/reach transceiver is compatible with your equipment at the ends of the link.  Transceiver compatibility is outlined at the below link.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/interfaces-modules/transceiver-modules/products-device-support-tables-list.html

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Good luck!

The LX4 type transceiver is not compatible with LR or SR SFP+ transceivers.  LX4 is only compatible with a corresponding LX4, for which there is no SFP+ equivalent.

You will need new xenpacks.
