827-4V to PBX No Ring/Can't here !

I have an 827-4V connected to a PBX system via the FXS ports. I can make LD outgoing calls without any problems.

Here’s my problem. When a call comes in the line “lights up” on the phones but doesn’t ring. When I answer the call I can’t hear the person.

I connected a analog phone directly to one of the FXS ports & on incoming calls the phone rings & I can hear the person.

Is this a PBX problem or a 827 problem ???

At first glance, it appears to be something with the PBX considering I'm getting some response from the phone, and it's connected to the line side of

the PBX. Could this be a loopstart or groundstart signaling problem?

If this is the case I would think this would be a huge problem because of all the different PBX systems we have ?

Would this mean I would have to try different loopstart & groundstart signaling for each PBX system ?
