Has anyone experienced what occurs with an active IP phone to IP Phone call when
a route switchover occurs. As in if the active route fails and switches to a backup
route. Would the call be terminated or just a little choppy until network is
converged. Assume either static route or fast converging dynamic routing protocol.
Thanks.

The call will continue. You may get a short interval of no audio. If convergence is really slow then the IPhone may loose its registration with CCM. But if the call is to another phone or to a MGCP gateway then the audio path will be kept open regardless.

How long can the IP phone wait before losing registration with CCM during convergence. The call is to a PSTN phone through MGCP gateway.
