CallManager OS 2000.2.7 vs 2000.2.7a?

Can someone explain the difference between OS 2000.2.7 and OS 2000.2.7a?

The reason I'm asking is...I went through (literally) hell to get the correct hardware detection/OS CD's for our new MCS-7835-H1 servers, which are apparently extremely new. I put in the hardware detection disk, which says it's 2000.2.7a, and everything comes up fine...but then, when it asks for the OS disk, the only one out of the 12 CD's they sent me that it will accept is the OS install CD for 2000.2.7. I also have an OS upgrade CD for 2000.2.7a, but when I try to run that on our new servers, it tells me it can't run on unsupported hardware (!).

Is there something I'm missing? The only reason I'm curious about this is because I want to do a clean install of the latest version of the OS and CCM on our new servers, but am puzzled as to why I can't just install OS 2000.2.7a from the CD's I've been sent. I've looked on Cisco's site, but have yet to come up with an explanation on this...

2000.2.7a only resolves the following bug.

CSCeh04813: The operating system displays mismatched Network Interface Card (NIC) numbers on the IBM X346, MCS 7835-I1, and MCS 7845-I1 servers with the B1 revision of the NIC. Since you are not running an IBM server, you do not need 2000.2.7a.

Thanks

Thanks so much; that explains a lot.
