Change phone from 7940 to 7960

Is there an easy way to change a phone from a 7940 to 7960 without deleting and reinstalling it. The initial template will be the same with 1 line and 1 speeddial. I have 60 to do when the new phones arrive. It seems to be a large overhead in time for such a simple task.

How about trying Bulk Administration Tool (BAT). You see, this tool helps you configure the IP Phones easily and much faster. Probably, this can also help you.

I used this to install the phones but BAT does not give you an option to change phone and phone template options (BAT 4.2 on CM 3.1)

Any other ideas?

There is a "bulk update" feature in BAT, but I cant remember what options it gives you.

Under device defaults the 7960 phone load and template will load when you plug the phone in.......

What I have done in the past is to replace the MAC address of the replaced phone with the new 7960 MAC address. That is one way that you will not have to recreate the phone.
