Cisco Conferencing Single server solution is dead?

Cisco announcement that MPE user should migrate to MP 8.0 means that users must migrate from a single server solution to a three server solution + webex service (minimum).

Looks like Cisco is pulling from SMB market because MPE and MP used to be products for different market segments.

Adding a software based conferencing on the application server on version 8.0 reduced the number of hardware but still a lot of devices for a SMB.

Any ideas if a single server solutions is on the pipeline?

Thanks

Hi,

If you're using Webex Integration Type 2 (ie Webex Scheduling) - as opposed to Type 1 (aka MP scheduling) you only need 1 box (Application server).

MP Web and Webex Node are optional in that configuration.

More info can be found here:

http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Release_8.0_--_System_Requirements_for_Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Release_8.0#Cisco_WebEx_Integration_with_Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace

Hope that helps

Kurt

No webex integration. Everything must be done at customer network.

Still no a single box because you required webex ( a big outside box).

Thanks

Everything obviously depends on your requirements.
Anyways, even if you require everything to be on-premise, you require a Webex type integration (obviously provided you require web conferencing!),
just in your case, you will then need Type 2 with webex node or Type 1.
Agreed in that case single box won't be possible.
Any specific questions w.r.t deployment, please don't hesitate to ask.
