If I have two clusters connected via a WAN link and two phones from cluster 1 conference in 2 phones from cluster 2, how many voice streams do I have across my WAN link. Also can these streams be G729 without using a hardware transcoder?
Thanks in advance for any answers!

I would expect two voice streams - although it may depend in how and in what order the conference members were added - it is possible to use conference resources in both clusters.
If you are using the software conference bridge you will need a transcoder as it supports G.711 only.

Justin,
Thanks for your reply. It is as I expected. This causes a few problems if the WAN link is fairly slow! 2 inter-cluster calls then take up 160K of bandwidth.
I guess we'll have to wait for software transcoding!

Mike
