Console logoff interferes with Unity services

When logging off of the local Unity server console (running Win2k SP2) we have noticed that the Unity Services either hang or stop responding. We're not sure if this is the AvCSGateway or AvCSMgr, but the little systray icon shows that Unity is stopped and generally can't be restarted except by a complete server restart. We have resorted to using the Win2k Terminal Server Client to manage the server until this issue is resolved. Terminal server sessions don't appear to be affected by the same issue.<br><br>I'm not sure if this is related, but TAC had us reinstall the Dialogic board drivers a few months ago to try and resolve a Nortel PBX/Unity port busy issue (which incidently is still occurring, see case C285575). Is it possible that some of the services are set to interact with local server sessions now?<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>-Chris<br>=================================================<br>Chris Helget Voice: 952-351-2655<br>ATK / Alliant Techsystems Fax: 952-351-3044<br>Corporate IT chris.helget@atk.com<br>=================================================<br><br>

Are you guys running RealSpeak TTS by any chance? I remember there was a problem at one point with the TTS engine shutting itself down when you logged out and it took us down with it... this was fixed a while back, not sure what version you're running on.

If that's not the case I'm not sure what would be causing this right off hand...

We are running 2.4.6.135. I understand that 2.4.6.164 is available. This build also may fix an Miu race condition that locks up PBX ports which we may be experiencing as well from a previous post. We are only running TTS for a few pilot users. Is upgrading between 2.4.6 builds difficult?

We want to go to 3.1.3 eventually, but I understand that the architecture is quite different and we will not be going to Exchange 2k until this fall.

upgradting between 2.4.6 versions is no problem.

Unity 3.x does not require you go to Exchange 2000... it works perfectly fine with either 5.5 or 2000 or, in fact, a mixed site using both.

This is a known defect. If you have the RealSpeak Text to Speach engine installed, and one user calls in and listens to TTS, the next time you log out of the Unity console, Unity will go down.

Logging out of the unity admin account makes unity stop taking calls
