Has anyone been able to configure the Definity G3 (or any other pbx with similar functionality) an Cisco gateways to:
1. maintain voicemail mwi and station id etc,
and
2. allow the phones full feature functionality
WITHOUT configuring permanent voice trunks between routers as in the following:
phones--PBX------routerA---trunks---routerB------PBX--phones
The idea is we want to have full voicemail and phone features (using clear channels, et al) but not consume precious voice ports for permanent voice trunks. We want calls to be ip switched, and features to stay on clear channel trunks... or something.
Does this sound possible at all?

We have not found a way to have centralized voice mail mwi with a CallManager connected to a Definity G3. If you use a gateway with ISDN you can get at least station ID.
We would really like to do what you described by using the Definity C-LAN. We've tried this by creating an ISDN trunk group that has a signaling group type of h.323 . You need to have 'call share IP signaling connection = y'. There are lots of drawbacks including no name/number display until the call is answered and tear-down problems when the trunk group is filled. If anyone has had better success, I'd like to know.

You need to use a feature called T-CCS transparent common channel signaling. I have used it on my definity sites. Search cco with T-CCS if that doesnt work send me an email and I will send you a config.
