Exchange 2000 migration

Hi,

We have a customer at the moment with an existing Unity 2.4.6 (135) UM box which is conected to an Exchange 5.5 environment.

They wish to begin migrating users to a clustered Exchange 2000 server cluster and have therefore purchased a new Unity server with version 3.0 software to achieve this.

The Exchange 2000 cluster is on a separate domain from the Exchange 5.5 servers. There is a two way trust between the domains. I am unsure at this point if there is an AD two way connector.

The two exchange environments talk to each other via an SMTP gateway which sits on the other side of a firewall.

Will it be possible to install the new Unity server in to the exchange 2000 domain while the old one is still in the exchange 5.5 environment and integrate the new Unity server with the Call Managers. I have read a few posts regarding using partitions and having the same directory numbers.

What would be the easiset method of integration for the customer.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Regards

Richard

Yes this is possible. Here is a thread on the two ways to integrate two Unity servers with one CallManager cluster:

If you have any other questions about this just post them out here and we will be happy to help.
