mgcp, num-exp and translation rules

Hi,

I usually configure my gateways as h323, but thought I'd give mgcp a try.

The client has a PRI that will be installed in an MRP. The client is having a bunch of existing numbers ported on to the PRI. I want take those numbers and redirect them to a specific extensions. Their DIDs do not match up with the numbers being ported.

On an h323 config I would do a translation rule or number expansion. Can I still use these if the gateway is configured mgcp? or do I have to create a translation pattern in CM?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Heather,

When you configure the gateway for mgcp, its a master slave environment, so the CM has full control. You will have minimal dial peer configuration and the translation pattern and number expansion wont be of any use. You will have to set up all these rules in the CM. Good Luck!
