MGCP VG200 lost connection to CCM

Our customer is using two VG200 (MGCP) gateways connected to two Definity exchanges. He wants the following resiliency feature: If the VG200 loose connection to CCM (for ex. ethernet switch fail), it will disable its PRI (E1) interface to Definity exchange, in order all calls could be routed via another gateway.

Is such feature avaiable?

I tried to test what happens, when I disconnected the ethernet interface of the VG200 gateway. The VG200 switches all E1 subinterfaces down except the signalling time-slot. The Definity exchange did not receive any information that it should not to use this E1 interface.

Has anybody an experience with similar feature?

I am not very sure of how this could be done. But I believe this should be possible. I have a URL which could be of some help to you:

Configuring Cisco CallManager 3.x with IOS MGCP Gateways

Hope this helps.
