Modem via ATA too slow.

I have the following setup:

modem ---- ATA 186 --- CallManager 3.1(2c) --- Telco --- Modem

When dialing-up, I only get around 7.2kbps conection speed. The ATA and CallManager "talk" via skinny. Is there any way to get at least 28.8 connection speed using this setup?

The speed may be a product of the compression. Do you have the ATA in Fax-Mode?

Hopefully you have a IOS gateway, try a debug vtsp all. You can track how the call is getting built in the DSP's and so forth. There might be some clues, to where the problem is starting.

Tha ATAs do not support modems - only voice and fax (upto 14.4) using fax-passthrough.

Modems are support on some other products such as the VG248.
