mpdsaxl USER not working in MP8

Hello,

I have deployed Cisco MP8 EMS and CUCM 8. I am authenticating users between the two using Admin username and password. But whenever I change the Admin password in CUCM I am unable to sign on in the MP Web Portal.

Please advise what could be the possibility?

- Should I restart the MP8 service after putting in the new "mpdsaxl" user and password.

- Should I restart the CUCM8 DirSync service?

- Should I restart the CUCM8 Cisco AXL Service?

Hi,

Dont worry about the CUCM services - you shouldnt need to touch them.

You've created a dedicated MP8 axl user in CUCM?

What permissions / roles did you give this user?

When you say change the admin password..

Do you mean you go in and edit the Directory service setup, and change it to your dedicated user / password?

Cheers,

Tim.

Hi Tim,

I've done the following steps:

1- Created a new "mpdsaxl" user in the CUCM in the "Standard CCM Super User" Group.

2- Changed the username and password in MP Directory Services to "mpdsaxl" username and password. Which was previously CUCM Admin and password.

3- Changed the CUCM Admin password.

Your questions:

You've created a dedicated MP8 axl user in CUCM?

YES

What permissions / roles did you give this user?

"Standard CCM Super User"

When you say change the admin password..

Do you mean you go in and edit the Directory service setup, and change it to your dedicated user / password?

Change the username as well to mpdsaxl.

What is the actual process of changing the password and for the mpdsaxl user or any other user that we use in Cisco Meeting Place 8 directory service configuration. Because it doesn't say anywhere in the guide about changing the password and what happens if you change the password because I have been having trouble with single sign on after changing the passwords so I have to revert back to the old passwords.
