Multi-server site voicemail routing

Hi,

I am working on a large project which will require multiple Unity servers in a single Exchange site. The customer has requested that a single 800 line be created to facilitate checking voice mail. Am I correct in assuming that if I connect the 800 number to one server, possibly a dedicated server, the MTA will reroute the voicemail queries to the appropriate server (only within a single Exchange site)?

Are there any issues with this approach?

Or am I better off selling the customer on a dedicated 800 number to each Unity server?

Thanks,

John Howell

John Howell
Senior Consultant
Netigy
The eBusiness Security and Infrastructure Specialists (sm)
www.netigy.com
Mobile: 602-363-6718
Fax: 877-860-4677
Email: john.howell@netigy.com

To check messages a user needs to call into the Unity server they were added as a subscriber on (their Exchange mailbox can be anywhere in the site, however). They cannot call into any Unity server in a site to check their messages, it has to be the one they were added as a subscriber on.

As such having a single 800 number for many folks across multiple Unity servers to use when checking their messages isn’t going to fly. You’ll have to go with a separate 800 number for users of each Unity server to use when accessing their messages.
