I had a similar problem. Using CM 3.1(2c) and Cisco IOS H.323 Gateway. I have been monitoring the forum for this issue.
Are you having an issue with internal MOH or MOH incoming through a gateway?

This document is useful in setting up MOH: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/3_1/sys_ad/adm_sys/ccmsys/a05moh.htm

We had the exact problem when we installed our system. We found that IOS 12.2(2)T is the only IOS version that worked for us on the Gateway.
The codec for the Gateway must be set to G711ulaw in the dial peer :-
dial-peer voice 500 voip
destination-pattern 5..
progress_ind setup enable 3
session target ipv4:10.1.0.2
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
codec g711ulaw <---"Strange because I am in the UK"
Although if you use softphone remotely you will need to use this config :-
voice class codec 1
codec preference 1 g711ulaw
codec preference 2 g729r8
!
!
dial-peer voice 500 voip
destination-pattern 5..
progress_ind setup enable 3
voice-class codec 1
session target ipv4:10.1.0.2
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
This will allow softphone to connect with the "always use low bandwidth codec" set.

i did exactly as the document said, dropped the file into the directory CM processed it but when i go into the service and try and add the MOH resource it gives me an error stating i dont have suffient rights...
I can see that the mp3 file gets processed and the various versions are created (ulaw,711, 729 etc)...it did add the file one time but when i configured the device to use that MOH...it did not and used the deafult beep instead.
Please enlighten
Regards

have you tried converting the mp3 to wav first and then dropping it into the "drop your files here folder"?

i did but the same thing happened.....one time though i was able to get the server to add one MOH stream but when i configured an extension it would not play it but instead give the default beep on hold.
has this worked for you?
please let me know thanks
