I wanted to put this question out here hoping I might get some feedback on others’ experiences with PCD.
Personally I have not been a big fan. I typically do upgrades and migrations by hand.
But I have a project coming up where PCD would be a good fit.
In my experience PCD fails more often than it succeeds – some issues are my fault, others I cannot explain.
I wanted to refamiliarize myself with it, so I setup a lab.
I am running the latest version of PCD – 14.0 SU3
I am trying a simple migration of moving a single Call Manager Publisher to a different host.
But it fails every time.
I built a fresh CUCM publisher running 11.5.1 SU2.
I was able to discover this cluster.
I created another CUCM on a different host as the destination.
I added it as a Migration cluster.
Created and Ran the Migration task using the bootable ISO as the migration file.
It copies the data from the source, boots and starts installing on the destination.
During the database step 6 of 6 it crashes every time.
A message pops up for a moment that says:
spawn sftp adminsftp@
Missing hostname
Then it displays a Critical Error message.
I’ve collected the console output, but not able to find the cause.
I also tried the same procedure migrating to the same host – just as a test.
I get the same failure.
Seems like a simple enough task, but it fails every time.
Not sure what I am doing wrong.
