Hi All,
Under the old 4.x model you were able to split the roles of you CCM's without a license penalty.
eg. I have 3 servers licensed but I actualy have 5 servers in the cluster 3 servers running all services except TFTP and IPVMS 2 servers ONLY running TFTP and IPVMS.
This was totaly valid under the license rules for 4.x but now with 6.x there is license enforcement so what I want to know is can I run the same cluster above with only 3 node licenses or will I need to have a full node license for the 2 boxes only doing TFTP and IPVMS?
I am posing this question through my local Cisco guys but thought someone else may have run into it. Any help would be great.
Cheers,
Ben.

AFAIK the CCM node license is only required for the CUCM service. in my lab i have 2 servers, if i shut down the CCM service in the SUB and go to license viewer i get 2 licensed nodes, 1 used and 1 available.
the CCM node license refers to a node in which you will be doing call processing or in which you will have the service running as a backup server.
the TFTP service should not require the license but to be honest i'm not sure if it's required to run IPVMS. according to the test i did in my lab it should not be, since the only service i stopped was the CUCM service and all the others kept running.

Excellent thanks,
That pretty much matches what I thought but I might find some time to lab it as well just to make sure.
Cheers,
Ben.
