Hi,
my customer want to know if he can rename the Windows Administrator account for improve the security.
Did you know if this is supported?

I dont have a clear cut document that says its supported. But the CCM admin password and username is nothing but a local windows NT account. Changing it locally on the machine (username or password) doesnt affect the operation of the callmanager. Make sure you change it on all servers in the cluster.

Did you tested this?
I found another post that says to rename the account back to "Administrator" when you need to install any update / patch...
Did you know about this?

Jeff,
I have tested the change of username on lab servers and it works fine. I was not aware of the patch/update requirement. I will test that here soon.

Read the following document for information regardin option security options for CCM. It should be on your CCM server.
C:\utils\SecurityTemplates\CCM-OS-OptionalSecurity-Readme.htm
Look in section 6.3 for information and caveats specific to renaming the "Administrator" account.
