Hi,
Anyone here encountered a static noise from the Cisco 7935 Conference Phone?
I am using a Cisco callManager 3.3.3 sr2 and whenever I am using the Cisco 7935 IP Conference Phone the other side of the connection is hearing some kind of a hizzing sound coming from my end wether the calls i made Lccal to Local Call or PSTN calls.
I have two units of Cisco 7935 phones located at 2 different conference rooms and both have thje same problem.Already tried to replace the phones with new one and the problem still persists.
The problem only occurred with a Cisco 7935 Conference Phone. the problem is not manifesting on Cisco 7960, 7940, and 7910 IP Phones.
Any help will be highly apprreciated.
Thanks in advance
Best Regards,
Doujie

We get this occassionally on our phones when somebody uses a cell phone nearby. Nextel phones in particular can make this happen (on any of our IP phones with speakers).
It is common enough we had to put it on our user FAQ at:
http://www.scd.ucar.edu/nets/projects/voip/documentation/users/faqs.htm
The entry for this issue in particular reads:
---
# Clicking or static through speaker
Cell phones and radios can create interference with electronic devices due to the signal strength and frequencies that they use. We have found that some of these devices create a "clicking or static" sound through the telephone speaker. The interference can be minimized by moving the cell phone or radio away from your phone.

That may or may not be what you're running into.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for the reply, however my problem is that there are no static noises that can be heard from the 7935 itself it can be heard on the other side of the connection wether it is PSTN or Local to Local Calls (either to an analog or IP Phone).
The Cisco 7935 is nowhere near any electronic or radio equipment.
Do you have any more suggestions on how to resolve this problem?
Thank you very much.
Best Regards,
Doujie

We have not experienced that particular problem with our 7935s. We did, however, find them unsatisfactory in our larger conference rooms because they do not have the external microphone option. Our solution to that was to use our analog Polycom conference phones with external microphones and connect those to our VG-248 analog ports. That solution works much better for us, though we still use the 7935s in smaller offices for conference calls.
