Unity 3.0.4 Licensing features

Hello,<br>I just installed a unity 3.0.4 Voicemail server w/ 250 VM licenses for a customer. The customer has a seperate Exchange server w/ 25 licenses. My question is: could I have homed the users mailboxes on the seperate Exchange server's mailstore even though it only has 25 Exchange Client access licenses?<br><br>Or did I have to home the users on the unity server that has the 250 licenses?<br><br>I can't seem to find a good answer at cisco.com.<br>Thx.<br><br>

As long as those users are really only voice mail users (i.e. their only interface into their message store is through the phone) you can home them wherever you want. If they want to use Outlook to get at their emails and the like, you'll need to pony up CALs for that.
