Unity 3.1.5 - remote message retrieval by DN - 2 Unity servers- 2 numbers?

Hi,

Setup is as follows - 2 Unity servers (1 x UM, 1 x VM) 8 and 16 ports, 1 ccm cluster.

We've set up a ddi for users to access messages remotely, based on the 1st dn for VM users (ie they dial the number they have always dialled for voicemail) which translates to the first DN for the VM server.

As the UM server ports have different DNs, this number and translation does not work for UM users dialling in.Is there a way round this, or do we have to give out 2 different numbers for voicemail retrieval?

TIA

Mick

Basically you need to give out two different numbers.

If the Unity nodes are in the same dialing domain you can configure the auto attendant scope to the dialing domain. Then all subscribers can dial into a single node, enter their extension to be transferred to their phone which would roll to their mailbox on the correct node. At that time they can login.

This would be a pain in my mind but maybe it works for you.

Thanks,

Keith

How about a set up like the "Cisco Unity-centric Configuration" of this doc...

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/788/AVVID/one_message_button_two_unity_servers.html ?

So everyone uses the one DDI to the VM server and from there they select 1 or 2 to reach the appropriate sign-in prompt.

You could also have subscribers call their own number (if they have a DID) and once they get forwarded to voice mail they can hit * to sign in.

Several workarounds I guess :)
