Unity with VM and UM

I have never setup something like this, so quite not sure whether it will work or not. I ahve a customer who has a Unity (single server) setup with 50 VM users. The exchange server is off box. Now the customer wants 5 extra users with Unified messaging. So can I install 5 more unified messaging licenses on the Unity server and have VM and UM users at the same time ?

The unity servers are licensed as VM-only, or Unified Messaging. There are misunderstandings but it is one or the other.
