Has anyone setup VIC-2BRI-S/T cards successfully?
I have 2 brand new cards, each in a NM-2V.
The voice quality is so poor that its unusable.
These have been tried on different ISDN lines at different locations, with different cables, different 3660s, different version of sofware in 12.1 and 12.2!!
If I use an FXO port to the PSTN in the same routers, voice quality is fine.
Here's my config:
interface BRI2/0
no ip address
isdn switch-type basic-net3
isdn incoming-voice voice
dial-peer voice 1 pots
destination-pattern 9T
progress_ind alert enable 8
progress_ind progress enable 8
progress_ind connect enable 8
direct-inward-dial
port 2/0/0
thanks
Mark.

You may want to have a look at the compand type (ALaw or uLaw) configured under your voice port.
Most non-North American countries use ALaw but the default configuration is uLaw. An incorrect compand type will cause voice distortion.
If you issue the command "show voice port" it will detail the current compand type along with alot of other voice port information.
