Voice Over VPN

I have a VPN tunnel going from a VPN3000 to a 800 series router with 512k of bandwidth, straight IP. I have a PBX on each side and they are communicating over IP. My phone calls are terrible quality and drop frequently. Are there any settings I can apply on either end to clear things up and increase reliability? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your vpn goes over the internet I would say that you are at the mercey of the internet. if you going over some sorta of telco cloud you may be able to purchase a priority service from them. but unless you have a provider that will recognize the qos bits and follow them there is not much you can do.
