Converting Nexus 2000 FEX from Single Homed to Multihomed

Hello,

 

I have multiple 2248 FEX's that are currently single-homed to one of two 5k parents. The 5k's are currently configured with VPC between the two. I need to remediate the single-homed devices to multi-homed without causing any FEX downtime.  Can anyone advise on best practice to achieve this?

Are the ports that are singled homed currently vPC member ports?

That will be tricky with not causing any interruptions to the network.
