Hi Gary,
Data Center to Data Center can be conencted in diffterent ways like point to point link,over the MPLS or some other means and cofniguration all depend on the connectivity what exactly is with your current network setup.

Hi Gary,
I was looking at your requirement and not clear what exactly you want to achieve for L-2 across two data centre...
1..There are different options available with L-2 connectivity across two data centre -- most commonly extend LAN and configure as one data centre to external world..
2.. you can reduce the number of network devices across data centre by putting primary devices at one site and secondary / standby at other site..
If you state few of your requirement would be great help to suggest further..
