Hello,
I have been looking for factors that decide the placement of a particular model of switch as Core/Agg/Access.
Few things I can think of is -
1. Port count & Speed
2. Over subscription rate required.
3. FIB and CAM table size.
4. Layer-3 features like VRF, routing protocols
5. Layer-2 features like Fabric Path, VPC etc.
6. Amount of East West traffic flow.
7. Service Modules / Load balancer /Firewall requirement.
Given with such design, I see most of my requirements need just 5K as collapsed core switch. What else do you think should be considered when designing a DC LAN.
Thank you.
