We currently have a cluster that is non HX in our vsphere data center where one of the hosts in it is hosting our vCenter server. We also have a newly deployed HX cluster with 4 nodes in that same vsphere datacenter that are both being managed by the same vCenter server.
I would like to migrate the vcenter server and it's VM files from the non HX Cluster host and datastore to the HX cluster node and datastore.
I do not think clone, or export/import ova will work in this situation. I was thinking the solution would be to shut down the vCenter server, log onto the host directly that it is hosted on, and download the VM machine files folder to my laptop, then log into the HX environment and upload the files to a newly created datastore for the vCenter server. Where i get unsure of this solution is how am i going to add the vCenter server back into inventory?
