Nexus 1000v Release 4.2(1)SV2(1.1a) ovf deployment error

We are attempting to deploy the VSM on a ESXi 5.1.0,10645491 host and get the following error: 

         

We can deploy the same ovf on a host running ESXi, 5.0.0,623860 and don't encounter the error.

Were you trying to deploy it from the ovf file or the ova file?

Try the ova file if you were using the ovf. (The ovf file isn't supported as of ESXi 5.1, but the ova file is.)

The ova file fails as well with a different error, something about a "Property".

That error looks like you're trying to deploy the ova directly to one ESXi host instead of the vCenter that controls them all.

You'll need to deploy it to the vCenter. You also need to verify that you have an enterprise plus license for vCenter, this is required to create a DVS.
