TWINAX Compatibility

Just wanted to know if Cisco TWINAX are compatible between Cisco ASR 9006 Router and Cisco FPR4140.  I don't want to waste money on 10Gb SFP+ SR Transceiver and would like to use TWINAX for EOBC and IRL links between two ASR 9006 chassis, and downlink to Cisco FPR4140 series Firewall Appliances.  From 4140s to Nexus 9300s will use to same TWINAX cable in either Layer 2 and/or Layer 3 design.  We haven't decided whether to go with Layer 3 all the way from the Server Blades in the Chassis to Nexus TOR9300s or Layer 2 will be recommended.

Thanks,

I don't know the answer.

I would say highly likely if you stick with passive cables.  I wouldn't be very confident with active cables.
