VLAN limitations with OTV on ASR

Hello.

We're relocating a data centre and potentially a large number of VLANs need to be spanned. My ASR has accepted "service instance 1 ethernet" to "service instance 4000 ethernet" commands. But is there a practical limit to the number of VLANs I should be configuring on the ASR using OTV.

What model of ASR are you referring to?

The router is an ASR 1001-HX (x2).
I see there are no limitations documented. But each ethernet service instance presumably uses a PVST. Could that be a limitation? MST would probably avoid that.

I don’t believe so, as you can go up 4095 if need be, but I would never push that limit I would break up large amounts if vlans between AED.

How many vlans are we talking about?

What is your ultimate goal to vmotion servers over?
