VPC Failure When One N7K Down

Folks,

We had a situation where the VPCs failed on an active N7K when the other N7K was down. What can cause this? These VPCs are attached to non-Nexus devices so the VPC is only configured on the N7K.

It depends on the failure type. Whether you lost the peer-keepalive, the peerlink, or both. There are different scenario's. Some of those the VPC secondary device will shut its VPC ports to prevent loops.

Sounds like your peerlink failed.
