I have a Cisco Nexus 5596 with 48 Ethernet Ports (two of which are now configured for Fibre Channel). It has a FEX attached to it as well.I was able to configure ANY Ethernet port with the typical interface commands when in interface configuration mo...
Folks, We had a situation where the VPCs failed on an active N7K when the other N7K was down. What can cause this? These VPCs are attached to non-Nexus devices so the VPC is only configured on the N7K.
I have only created VPCs between a N7K and a N5K. In those cases the N5K also has a VPC domain, peer link and peer keepalive link because it also had VPCs facing "down" toward N2K FEXs. However, I think Cisco TAC told me that the N5Ks would have had ...
If the udld feature is enabled in the admin vdc (vdc 1), does that mean that it is enabled on every fiber interface in a N7K?It seems like it is now possible to configure it on each vdc and each interface. Is that true? It all seems poorly documented...
If I have a pair of N7Ks that provide an aggregation layer that is the first-up and I'm using HSRP as the FHRP, over what "channel" do the two HSRP processes communication? Would they use the mgmt0 port if that were configured? Or do the communicate ...
Let me make sure I've got what you are saying:"This is why it is possible to use VPC to non-NEXUS switches. Provided the two rules above is followed. i.e. the non-NEXUS switches or even a NEXUS switch can be used (NO VPC) if only local interfaces ar...
Excellant response. This relates to another post I just made. What are the guidlines when running VPCs between VDCs? Do both need a peer domain, peer link and peer-keepalive link or just the VDC that has STP root, etc?
