Due to limited number of fiber runs between floors, we need to daisy chain a new switch to an existing access switch through GBICs, at least for short-term solution.
We have three existing switches: 2950-48, 3524XL, and 3548XL.
I'm having a hard time finding the specs for the 3500XL's...idealy we'll daisy chain the new switch to the one w/ greater switching capacity (CPU, memory, switching throughput, etc).
Could someone please provide some info on the 3500XL, or point me to a website? I've searched Cisco's Docs but came up empty handed.
thanks.

These two links should provide you the information you need to know about 3500XL switches.

May I ask how you searched for those two docs?
I tried the Documentation website on cisco.com and didn't find anything...there's no link for 3500XL series.

You sure can.
On Cisco home page, click on the technical documentation link under the partner links, in the product page click on the drop down box for catalyst switches and select catalyst 2900xl/3550xl.
You may need to login to get the same view I did. You can access pretty much everything from the product documentation page.
BTW, thanks for rating the post :-)

You were right, I had to login to get that link to show up on my right hand side of the Cisco home page.

This link works w/o logging in, but the URL isn't made easy for access to general public...
thanks again!
