3550 Switch- Management looses while configuration

Hi All,

We have 3550 switches, managed by access thru vlan1. There are multiple vlan for individual routers connected on ethernet ports. The respective vlans are assigned Ip with smask of /30.

When we try to configure router on say vlan 5, the access to L3 gets locked and we face probklem in accessing some of the routers on different vlans. vlan5 has incoming access list on Vlan but the problem is faced only while configuring say doing a copy paste on the router.

Anyone please suggest what can be the issue since we are able to login to the router, but while v r pasting the some part of config on that router, we face this problem. At times we observed that access to particular router behind particular vlan is not availabel. After removing and reapplying access list, everything becomes fine.

Pls suggest if further details to the problem are reqd.

Best of my knowledge, you shouldn't paste any configuration when there are access-list exist in router. You can copy and paste the access-list in notepad and remove the whole configuration of access-list. Now you can paste your new configuration in router. You can check with named or ip access list which you can add any number of access-list at any time, it wont be affects you configuration or the router hanging problem.
