Hi, I am running a 3750E-48PD switch with firmware 15.2.SE1 UniversalK9 firmware as a master and I want to stack to a 3750G-16TD currently running 12.2(35)SE5 IP-Base. When i try to stack them I get a "booting in mismatch mode" and then it hangs. I understand the versions should match, but there is no UNIVERSAL version for the 3750g-16TD Switch. What can I do to make the stack work?
Thanks for any help.

3750G/X supports 15.1 and later. 3750/G do NOT support 15.1 and later.
You'll need to downgrade the IOS of the 3750E.

Thanks for taking the time to rate our posts.
Can't really tell because I don't know what your network is like. But if your network is plain "vanilla" (voice VLAN, data VLAN and no funky stuff like 802.1X) then you're not missing much.
As a matter of fact, the most stable IOS for the 3560- & 3750-series family of switches is still 12.2(55)SE. So if you want to consider this version, then look at 12.2(55)SE10.
