4506 SupIV confreg=0x2142 does not work

In trying to recover the password on a 4506 w/SupIV running 12.2 IOS, I break the autoboot sequence, and at the rommon type 'confreg 0x2142' but I get a usage:confreg error. I then try 'confreg=0x2142' which it accepts, then a 'reset' but the sytem reloads with a 0x2102 config so the orig config loads. Any ideas?? See set command below:

Solved it....the autoboot apparently overrides any confreg settings defined by the user, so you have to type 'confreg ' and configure settings for the autoboot.

Hi,

When you are in the rommon mode just type confreg and respond to the prompts as explained in the following link.

Once you do that the switch should boot without the config and from there proceed with the other usual pw recovery procedures.

There is no need for use confreg 0x2142 any more. Simply reset the switch.

I can not get the case to change to 0x2142.
or 0102 or 0142
What to do?

The switch does not reset the password and continues to require its entry after RESET

Удалось добиться сброса.

Нужно терпение и пробовать. На третий раз сработало. В несколько видоизмененном виде, но сработало.

 Перевести регистр в полное соответствие не удалось. Сброс произошел и при значении регистра какой был мною указан ранее.
