500 ms to 800ms latency in Local LAN

I am facing a peculiar problem in my network.

When i ping some of my layer2 switches in the local lan i gets 250-300ms latency after every 3-4 normal 10ms latency.Even sometime it's reaching by 500ms also.

IS Someone knows about this problem why it's happening.

Another thing if i want to enable the broadcast storm control then what should be the ideal percentage i should set for upper utilization and lower utilization.

yesterday i made a test with a smartbit and the normal latency was under 300us. But when the network was congested the latency was more than 300us between the two switches. But it depends from the hardware. What switch you use?

The problem could be the traffic or the software.

Broadcast storm is nice, but you must remember that broadcasts in a network are neccessary. You should set the limit not sow low. I would recommend to set the value not under 50%. But the best way is to sniffer the network, count your broadcast and choose the double or triple values.
