6500 SUP1A module

Regarding the SUP1A module, I have been reading that if the SUP1A comes with only a PFC installed, you can't install a MSFC or MSFC2 on it. However, if the SUP1A comes with a MSFC, then you can install a MSFC or MSFC2. Why is this?

The reason why I am asking this is because I ran across this. IS this a way for Cisco to make you buys a SUP1A with a MSFC?

The reason why we you need sup1a+ MSFC to add a MSFC2 is because there is something physical stand(not sure exactly what it is) which needs to present on the sup to add the MSFC otherwise the MSFC can't be held on the sup physically. That can't be added in the field and hence you need the in-built component (for the lack of better word) to be able to add the new MSFC2.

Check with your account team about the TMP program which allows Trade-in of module without MSFC to a one with MSFC.
